Hurghada holidays are tailored made for those that love any type of water sport. This resort has grown from being a tiny fishing village to now being an international centre for all types of aquatic sports. And it's easy to see why. The warm waters here attract a multitude of tropical fish, some quite rare and the off shore reefs are the finest in the world. Hurghada has a warm, dry desert climate with a steady breeze. Take care though, the summers are extremely hot but the winter temperature usually lies between 20 - 25 degrees C with a water temperature of 20 - 22 degrees C - just right for messing about in the water!
Naama Bay holidays offer a lot. In Hebrew, Naama means 'pleasant' and that sums up this resort perfectly. Naama bay has an endless breeze and plenty of sun, so it is ideal for Kite surfing. You might wish to charter a small yacht and explore this magnificent bay at your own pace. The diving centres here cater for the novice as well as the more experienced and snorkelling and scuba diving are extremely popular. If you don't fancy getting wet, you can view the marine life through a glass bottomed boat of if you want to get up close and personal, take a trip in a yellow submarine named Sinbad, with Captain Nemo in charge. An unforgettable experience.
Sharm El Sheikh holidays offer the greatest range of aquatic sports. Located at the southern tip of the Sinai Peninsula, it is known internationally as having the finest and most diverse diving sites. Naturally, snorkelling is very popular here with over a hundred diving centres. But there are a lot more activities on offer too. Desert safaris are very popular where you explore the mountains, vast sandy tracts and secluded oases from the relative comfort of a Toyota 4X4 Land Cruiser. These generally happen when it's cooler, usually at sunset or at sunrise, when you can watch the sun rise above a mountain. Awesome! Instead of 4x4s, you can explore the area by jeep, motorbike or quad runner which is a four wheeled motorbike, designed for bumpy, off road condition. If you fancy something more sedate, explore the area atop a camel or horse.
No holiday to this part of the world would be complete without the chance to see Bedouins in their own environment. Usually you are transported there by a 4x4, which will take you to the middle of the desert, to the Bedouins camp. You can then either take a camel ride or relax in a Bedouin tent, drinking their tea, flavoured with herbs or smoke a water pipe (a Shisha). After a talk on the Bedouin way of life, there will then be a candlelit meal. This has been prepared over an open which gives everything a distinctive taste. Typical food served would be Bedouin pitta bread, stuffed vine leaves, pickles, olives and 'Magluba' chicken stuffed with fruit and herbs. After such a meal, there is no better way to relax than to watch the belly dancing. The evening concludes by gazing at the desert night sky through telescopes on the beach. The desert is an ideal place to view the cosmos as there is no light pollution.
